When I told my friend about my idea he thought I had lost my mind.

We were at lunch in the state-of-the-art kitchen of a large software company in central London.
I was just about to quit my job as an engineer to settle down in rural central Portugal.

My idea sounded like madness.

But the real madness was that my my 2-year-old daughter was spending more time in childcare than I was in the office.

I wanted to put an end to it.

I was desperate to show her the beauty of nature and give her a sense of adventure.

In 2019, we moved out of London and found an old house not far from Coimbra. I had to learn new skills and wear different hats.
But I have no regrets.
We seen breathtaking places, soaked up the charm of old towns and met a community of radicals.

Now I've made it my mission to make Central Portugal more accessible by sharing our experiences.
