Think Portugal is great for digital nomads?

Why after 38 months in central Portugal I've changed my mind. And it's not what you think.

I met Anders two years ago.

I was looking for guy teaching me how to use lime for plastering.
I found his story very interesting.

He decided to get to know country life after growing up and living only in big cities.

Five years ago, he came to central Portugal. And found a house he wanted to buy
The house had been built illegally 80 years earlier.
A steep hill at the back, a piece of land at the front.

A casual southern European adventure that turned into something else.

After a few months, he told me that he had noticed some changes.

He spent less time in front of the computer (as a software developer, that's no good) and more time MTB cycling, hiking with my family and exploring towns and villages.

Now his life is a little different.

"My life is now about spending time with family, being close to nature and being full of adventure."

And often hard work - restoring the historic house isn't easy work.

"I used to think Portugal was ideal for digital nomads, but I’ve changed my mind.
It's the perfect place to stay."
